PlayStation Network Changing To Sony Entertainment Network On Feb. 7th
February 5, 2012 - For those unaware, come February 7th, the PlayStation Network will not exist no more... well under that name at least. Sony is looking to fold PSN into its existing Sony Entertainment Network, which will help unify the services of both PSN and SEN, an example being the Music Unlimited service. While both services will be combining into one, nothing with actually physically change with the exception of the appearance of the PlayStation Network. What is interesting about this melding of the two services is the PSP, which utilizes the PlayStation Network for online gaming will stay under the moniker of the PSN instead of being roped into the mix.
"The goal is for there to be one networked log-in for all Sony services," a Sony spokesperson told Joystiq. "Changing the name 'PlayStation Network account' to 'Sony Entertainment Network account' helps clarify the unity between PSN and other Sony Entertainment Network services."
