CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. -- Three Carolina Beach officials have resigned including the mayor and town manager. Carolina Beach says town manager Tim Owens stepped down at Tuesday night's council meeting. His resignation was followed by Mayor Ray Rothrock and council member Lonnie Lashley.

Few details are available about why the trio resigned.

The town council met Wednesday to discuss the resignations. It says it will move forward to fill the vacancies.

Rothrock was elected mayor just last year.
