Jamie Dimon, the chairman and chief executive officer of J.P. Morgan Chase, received $23 million in pay and bonuses in 2011, the same as the year before, according to a regulatory filing.

Dimon?s compensation for 2011 was unchanged from 2010 on a total compensation basis, with the increase in his salary offset by a corresponding decrease in his cash incentive, the filing said.

Dimon, head of the biggest U.S. bank by assets, is doing better than the heads of other large U.S. banks.

Wells Fargo?s CEO John Stumpf received $19.8 million in 2011, up about 5 percent from 2010, and Citigroup?s CEO Vikram Pandit received $14.9 million, up from a nominal one dollar in 2010. However, Bank of America?s Brian Moynihan, CEO of the second biggest U.S. bank, received $8.1 million last year, more than four times as much as he received in 2010.

Dimon said on Wednesday that the company is inclined to restrict its stock buybacks when its shares are trading above $45.

Reuters contributed to this report.
